Success Kit - Affirmative Action

Affirmative Action refers to programs and policies that require Federal contractors and subcontractors to take proactive measures to ensure minorities, women and the disabled are provided equal opportunity for employment.  Employers that are required to have a formal affirmative action plan include federal contractors and subcontractors with 50 or more employees and $50,000 in contract revenue.

The Department of Labor's Employment Standards Administration's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) enforces the Executive Order 11246 – Affirmative Action.  The OFCCP is responsible for investigating complaints of discrimination.
