Companies recognize the important connection between personal life and work life. As such, most companies offer employees the opportunity to take time away from work when necessary. Time away from work may come in the form of either a leave of absence (either paid or unpaid) or paid time off. Many companies are also subject to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA provides certain employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. It also requires that the employees’ group health benefits be maintained during the leave.
See below for a list of documents and tools available with the Time Away From Work Success Kit. Upon request, a needs assessment/best practice consultation is also available from a TMS subject matter expert. |
